Who are we?

Feeling the dire need to grow in the integration of evangelism and social justice, to promote theology as a practice of the Whole Church that emerges from and informs daily life, as well as to give voice to churches in the non-Western world, an international group of evangelical theologians organized together to form INFEMIT to advance holistic, contextual mission theology not only for the worldwide evangelical community, but for the whole church.

What do we do?

INFEMIT works by equipping and accompanying the younger generation as agents of God’s mission; encouraging local Christian communities to grow in our God-given identity and missions; challenging the people of God to see the realities of their context, particularly the plight and potential of the poor and marginalized, and to be moved to respond in Christ-like fashion; and equipping Christian communities through prayer, publications, conferences, and more.

How do we work?

We achieve these goals by calling the Church in the majority world to live out its responsibility as a mature member of the body of Christ and by imagining, nurturing and embodying authentic and relevant Christian communities. As we do this, we reflect on and reformulate concepts such as ‘mission’, ‘missionary’, ‘mission field’, ‘holistic mission’ and we question bi-polar categories such as ‘Western/non-Western,’ ‘First/Third world,’ ‘North/South,’ ‘developed/underdeveloped,’ and others.
