As you engage with this topic:

I have two premises for this question based in this paper: First is that the eschatology’s of the various church traditions undertaking historic mission have been the most significant theological drivers of those missions. The second is that the essence of church engagement with its history rests with its recitation and upholding of its creedal traditions and trajectories, essentially unexamined.  That being said, “How might we utilize a better, deeper, more critical reflection on the history of Christianity so as to improve out engagement with the mission of Christ today?”
