with Benita Simón Mendoza and Ismael Conchacala Gil

Presented for the Stott-Bediako Forum

We interviewed Benita Simón Mendoza (Maya Kaqchikel) and Ismael Conchacala Gil (Wiwa) about the concepts and experiences, and steps toward reconciliation in their communities.

Benita and Ismael are part of Memoria Indígena, an organization that seeks to “recognize and remember the indigenous Christian histories of Abya Yala, creating spaces of intercultural dialogue between Christian indigenous communities, indigenous spiritualities, and the global church and articulating theological, missiological, and ecclesiological proposals that respond to the realities of [their] peoples.”
