April 27, 2021 will mark the centenary of the birth the Englishman, Rev. John R. W. Stott (1921-2021). Arguably, John Stott was one the most influential evangelical leaders in shaping global evangelicalism in the 20th century. His life and legacy as a clergyman, scholar, writer, global evangelist, Bible expositor, and shaper of movements and institutions, has impacted leaders young and old on every continent.

Some of his enduring publications include Enduring Christianity, The Incomparable Christ, and The Radical Disciple; not to mention that he was the principle drafter of the Lausanne Covenant. The Langham Partnership and Langham Publications continue John Stott’s legacy.

The International Fellowship of Mission as Transformation (INFEMIT) owes its beginnings in part to the keen influence and friendship between John Stott and the founders of the global INFEMIT movement.

That is why INFEMIT has named one of its principal activities the Stott-Bediako Forum. Kwame Bediako (1945-2008), one of the founders of INFEMIT, was one for the foremost African scholars and theologians of the 20th century. Coupling these two leaders in the name of our forum illustrates the cross-border fellowship in holistic mission which we seek to embody and nourish as INFEMIT.

The bi-annual S-B Forum brings together scholar-practitioners from around the world to discuss missiological themes relevant to advancing the mission of Christ as one of radical transformation in a rapidly changing world.
