Global Voices on “The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump”

Invitation to read the Chapter: Voices from the Global Evangelical Community, in The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump (Eugene, OR: Cascade, 2020), ed. Ronald Sider.

In 2017, just before the inauguration of Donald Trump, INFEMIT published:

A Call for Biblical Faithfulness amid the New Fascism.

The call was signed by over 200 people from around the world and translated into Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German. Concerned by a rising tide of dangerous political leadership around the world, authors of the call feared that Donald Trump and others were embodying this kind of political ideology. “Characterized by fundamentalist, militant, nationalistic, and racist policies, fascism threatens especially the “other,” be it the poor, the oppressed, or the disenfranchised—people for whom God has a special concern.”

Unfortunately for us today, we believe they were not wrong. As the U.S. faces impending elections, Christians must once again consider “The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump.” This book, edited by Ronald J. Sider includes voices of Christian leaders from across the country and the political spectrum (Eugene, OR: Cascade, 2020).

As INFEMIT, we stand with our brothers and sisters in the U.S., echoing our original call. We invite you to read Voices from the Global Evangelical Community, a chapter contributed by INFEMIT members and signers of the call: Samuel Escobar, David Lim, and Bishop Zac Niringiye.
