Corneliu Constantineanu was a theologian whose work was deeply rooted in his context – Romania. He was passionate about the relationship between the Church and the public sphere, and he is remembered as a tireless and dedicated INFEMIT Networking Team member, a devoted husband and father, and a leader and friend to many. From 2016 until his death in 2021, Corneliu worked as a Professor at the Aurel Vlaicu University in Arad, Romania. While there, he served as Director of the Research Centre for Intercultural and Interconfessional Studies, Director of the Master’s Program in Public Theology, and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in “Evangelical Theology.” Both the Master’s and PhD programs he led were created under the leadership of Corneliu in partnership with his colleagues, especially Marcel Macelaru, and inspired by the Faith and Life model offered by INFEMIT and birthed by CETI in Latin America in the 1980’s.

For this series, we seek to learn about the work of INFEMIT members from those who they have journeyed with and mentored. We thank Beni Mocan for collaborating with us to create this piece.
