Series: Art and Theology

What does it look like to do theology through art? Art has a way of connecting us to God in a way that is experiential and filled with stories, practices, and emotions. Art invites us to deepen our understanding of God, ourselves, and our world. We are excited to get to know various artists through this series and share their work with you!

This episode features a conversation with Thandi Gamedze that centers on her poem, “That Day…” In this conversation we discuss Thandi’s story as an artist, how her context informs and inspires her art, and how we can begin imagine a truly just future together.

Thandi Gamedze

Thandi is a writer, a poet, a facilitator and a student. The glue connecting all the varied bits and pieces is a deep commitment to the work of critique and reimagining (as both action and reflection) towards a world that is just, nurturing and kind. Thandi is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and works for The Warehouse, an organisation which envisions a reality in which churches are living out the peace and justice of God for the world.
